what an angel...

Before I begin....let me explain how Halloween goes at our house. Every year around the end of September I bring out the Halloween box. It has various costumes, wigs, decorations etc. I start asking the boys what they want to be. I come up with awesome ideas....no takers. The night before Halloween I am still asking them what they want to be. The costumes are then thrown together and usually taken off or not worn at all. I don't know how to change this pattern. It happens every year. They just don't get excited about dressing up, only about the candy! I don't push it. I would LOVE to have a theme and make elaborate costumes and work hard on them, but they just don't get into it, and I can't make them dress up. So this is what it looked like this year. At least I have Tayla who was just so so pretty as a little angel!

Tayla was just adorable in this angel costume! She was sick all weekend, so I don't have her usual happy face in the pictures, but she was so precious! I feel bad, but poor Logan didn't get a picture! I know, I know....he was Calvin from the comic Calvin and Hobbes. He basically wore a striped shirt and carried a tiger around.
This is the only shot I got of Kolby...he was um...a guy with bloody bandages on and a black cloak? (he has worn this cloak for three years now!)

Dallin wore this to a party on Saturday, but wouldn't wear a costume to the trunk or treat on Friday.

Preston looked so great in this mummy get-up, but then he looked in the mirror and just started crying and begging me to wash his face off and take off the bandages. He told me he looked too scary. I'm glad I got a picture though! I felt bad he didn't like it.

So there you have it, a messy, unorganized, un themed Halloween. But we had fun and that's all that counts right?

LOL...Preston is so funny! That for sure needs to be written down in a book so he can read about his Halloween experience later. Tayla looked darling!

Don't feel too bad Beth. I didn't even dress my kids up this year. I figured they got enought candy from school. :P Ah well. Stacie

LOL Your family cracks me up!!! How fun!! I think the stories that don't go by the 'book of perfect everythings' are the best ones!!! You go girl!!! :)

We had a few "successful" halloweens when John and Tim were young, but as they've gotten older I've done less and less with their costumes. For several years now I've let them do their own thing...I think that started the year Hannah turned 8. That's just fine with me, since I really don't care for Halloween personally.
