Beth and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.

I know it's only one in the afternoon, but I don't think it can get worse. I wake up with a major headache, try to sleep it off but give up when kids keep coming into my room (starting at 6:00 am!) The boys don't have school today, so I try to get them to help out with chores. Fighting, crying and screaming follows...not good for the head, send them down to clean the basement. Have a parent conference at 10:00 at the preschool. Am running late, speed in the neighborhood, see flashing motorcycle lights behind me....my first ticket in my entire life!!!! Go to conference ready to cry, but keep my head. Hear about Dallin's hitting, kicking and biting problems in class. Cry all the way home. I seriously need some ice-cream right now! I hope things get better, but the worst is yet to come....telling Kirk about the 75.00 ticket we have to pay.
Oh ya, and I have jury duty.

Oh geez...that doesn't sound like a good day at all. Go get yourself a root beer float and word of advice when Kirk walks in this afternoon already start tearing up before you tell him about the ticket and he'll really know you've had a bad day. It worked for me just don't get another ticket anytime soon because the sympathy only works on the first one. I hope tomorrow is a better day!!

Sorry to hear you've had such a horrible day!!! That's not a horrible ticket, though... and now you can say you've gotten one! I'm amazed that you've never had one before, LOL - that takes some doing! ;-)

And I know I've only got one to speak for, but kids are kids... don't feel bad :-( Anyone who has kids understands that you can't make them do what you want... we all get frustrated and embarrassed, but that also means we've all been there and don't judge yoy, FWIW {:-).

Hope your day improves tonight, and that you get some good sleep in preparation for a wonderful Friday :-).

Sorry to hear about your terrible day. This too will pass. I understand on the ticket. I hadn't gotten one for a very long time...while I was in high school. I was too cocky, though, and someone decided I needed to come down a peg or too...so I've been pulled over three times in the last two years. Mostly warnings, but the last one was the police woman from you know where and didn't budge an inch. It was on the way to my aunt's funeral and my sister (not Linda) wanted to tell the whole family about it. Then I get home and Tom is understanding, but made sure to ask Kevin Blue why cops always ask "Do you know why I pulled you over?" just before ward counsel meeting started. I was so embarrassed. Luckily, he didn't let anyone know why he was asking. Hang in there.

Oh Beth, I just want to reach through and give you a huge hug! Having to tell your husband you got a ticket is awful. ~speaking from experience~ I can't imagine having to do it after a day like you had. Do something for yourself tonight or tomorrow (since it is already late). Even a 1/2 hour kid free walk.

BTW the reference in your title is one of my favorite books of all time.

Oh Beth! I've been there. This afternoon wasn't fabulous for us either...ended with me in tears. Tomorrow's a new day!
