Crack it, staple it.

Yesterday after school Kolby was hit in the head by the gate on the playground. The mom who takes him home called me and warned me about the ammount of blood all over him. She wasn't kidding, his hair was covered in blood and his face, jacket and hands. I was pretty sure this would mean an ER visit. Kirk was leaving for the temple, so I had my sister Jean come over and watch the other kids (thank you so much Jean!!!). Kolby was so nervous, but very brave too. He is the toughest kid I know. He didn't flinch when he got a numbing shot and he said he could feel most of it. He did have a good crack on his head, but since it was in his hair they stapled it instead of stitching it. I've never seen this done before, it was cool! And the crack is held nicely together. This is the best picture I have of it.....

We just have to go in and get it taken out in ten days. Kolby thinks it's pretty cool now. The funny thing is when the ER doctor asked him what he was for Halloween and we told him he was a guy with a bloody bandage wrapped around his head. (the bloody part was right where he was hit too!) Beth

Eee-youchy! Poor guy! But yeah - that's totally funny that it's in the same place as his "bloody bandage" for Halloween, LOL, and I bet he'll be forever proud of having had a staple in his head! ;-)

OUCH!! We tried superglue on George's last head wound, it worked but was a real mess. We should have taken him in for a staple but we had just been in for stitches on his hand.

OUCH OUCH OUCH!! It makes me weak in the knees to even look at the picture. It's a good thing I don't have boys...I don't think I could handle the blood. Ya know maybe I take that back...I've been to the ER more times than I can count with Maryn.
