"I'm such a bad mom"

No, I'm not saying I am a bad mom, however, I can't tell you how many times I have heard this phrase. As Mother's Day is coming upon us I want all you moms out there to repeat after me, "I am such a good Mom!!!" I really have never heard any one say this about themselves. But I often hear the bad mom thing. What is it with us that we can only see the five things we did wrong verses the one hundred things we actually DID accomplish? I have done lots of "research" on this subject for talks and lessons and the only thing I have concluded is we are AMAZING but afraid to take any credit. We are not perfect, but we are amazing. We can do all the gross stuff like clean up throw-up in the middle of the night, change hundreds of smelly diapers and wipe slimy noses and faces and still see the beauty in each child and life. We can make it on 5 hours of interupted sleep and still serve our husbands and families with a smile. We can clean, cook, drive, serve others, pay bills, do laundry, help at church, volunteer at school and yet still teach our children about flowers or bugs or space or whatever they want to learn about. We can even do all those things while our body creates a baby, or feeds one. I am in awe each day when I look back and think of what I accomplished. Even if I feel like I only got the "bare minimum" done, it is A LOT! So mothers, please please please for your own good keep those negative thoughts out of your mind and focus on what you do and who you love and who loves you. It will make your job a lot more enjoyable and you will feel nothing but blessed when you remeber this.
