We spent Friday afternoon and Saturday planting the grass plugs. I have some hope that we will have some green grass in the next few weeks! It was quite the process...dig holes 1 foot apart, fill holes with water, put a plug in the hole, cover hole with dirt....the boys really got into it and were such hard workers! I took them out for a shave ice when we were all done Saturday. Our project this week is the garden. We planted our tomatoes, watermelon and cucumbers. We will go plant shopping again today and finish that up as well. I made a schedule for the boys and was a little nervous about them following it, but it has been a lifesaver! It changes week to week depending on our activities, but my house is clean and the boys haven't been bored.
7:00-7:30 dressed and eat
8:00 chores (they are in charge of a part of the house and it rotates each week-there's "downstairs dragon, front room frog, kitchen kitty and extra elephant")
Free time
9:30 work on "project" of the week (garden this week)
11:00 free time
12:00 lunch
12:30 reading, math or projects for the younger children-this was so cute yesterday, Kolby and Logan took turns reading to Dallin.
1:30 Free time-this is when Dallin naps and we can have friends over, watch TV or just relax (yesterday they swam at the neighbors house and I even had some free time!)
5:30 Dad home, dinner, family time
8:00 bedtime (I thought a later bedtime would be fun in the summer but they are so tired by eight that I just kept it there.)
So there's the routine! It has been nice and it keeps us all going. Since we allmost have our garden ready I think we will go pick strawberries at the berry ranch today or tomorrow. We went last year and picked raspberries and it was really fun! They have a beehive in a big flat glass thing and you can watch the bees and they have a fun animal area where you can feed the animals (pigs, sheep, cows etc.) And the fresh berries are yummy! Happy Wednesday!

I'm glad you got your grass in. I was thinking about you this weekend! :)
The Berry Ranch is right by our house! We never go because right after Garrett was born we stopped for some raspberries that I really, really wanted and they didn't have any and weren't very nice and I left crying. Bad memory. :) But I hope you get some good yummy berries!
