The end of summer!

I had to do one last post before school starts tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm just a wee bit excited if you couldn't tell :)  I love my kids with all my heart and we've had a pretty good summer over all, but they are so ready for school to start!!  Especially this one:

Isn't she getting so big and grown up!?  She is quite the girl too.  Adventurous, talented, funny, tough, independent, beautiful...I could go on and on.  I'm going to miss her a lot while she's at school.

She's finally letting me play with her hair too!!!  After she saw all the cool hair I did at girls camp I guess she trusts me now!

We finally managed to go to Eagle Island.  The kids had so much fun.  They all really love water, which is funny because I don't really like it.

On Saturday we went boating with a couple from our old ward.  They like to take us every summer and we have so much fun!  We went to CJ Strike instead of Lucky Peak this year because the smoke is really bad up there.  It was our first time there and it's a really nice place.  There's places to camp, a fish cleaning station, restrooms and lots of docks.  It wasn't very crowded either.  The worst part was we ran out of gas in the middle of NOWHERE.  (Luckily he had some extra gas for the boat and it got us home.)

On Friday my dad took us all to the fair.  It was so much fun!  My boys sat here watching eggs hatch forever!  I need one of these at my house!  I finally had to make them leave.

The kids won some ribbons too!  Tayla's lollipop flower from our Ivory Bloom online art class took first in the painting category, Kolby's tree took second in the graphite drawing category and Dallin's piece took third in the mixed-media category.  They were pretty proud!  I wanted to enter some candy really bad, but I happened to schedule my tooth surgery on the same day they took entries.  Oh well, there's always next year!

Tayla finished up her summer dance class.  It was a musical ballet class.  She did really well in it, but her instructor told me she's more of a jazz girl so we are putting her in a jazz class this fall.  If you don't want to spend a fortune on dance lessons, look into the community classes.  They are so affordable and the instructors are amazing!!  Tayla has learned a lot through them.

While I had some down time after my tooth extractions I finished up my 2012 blog book!!  I usually don't finish it until the end of the year, so I'm pretty proud of myself.  I have never regretted writing on this blog.  It has been so much fun to look back over the years (7 in September).  My blogs don't contain everything, but I am able to get most of our happenings on here!!  The kids LOVE to look at them too.

And last of all a picture of me with a cute new necklace and earrings from my dad.  Both of my sisters and my sister in law are now consultants for Mialisia jewelry and he bought me this one.  I love it!!  They have some awesome stuff, I'm sure you'll hear about them sometime!!  I took the necklace to the store to find a shirt that looked cute with it, and Tayla just looked around, grabbed this shirt off the rack which just happened to be my size AND it was a 50% off clearance shirt.  She's a wonderful shopper!!  She found me two other shirts as well.  Who knew?

I was also trying to smile without showing too many teeth (that big gap on the side is just gross.)  And by the way, at my last dental visit he gave me some antibiotics and the pain stopped a day later.  He thought I may have an infection in my bone-and I think he was right.  He was also so happy with how well they were healing.  I'll be happy to have teeth again!!!!

Well, here's to the end of summer 2012...now we're on to football, PTA meetings, homework, carpools and bake sales.  Back to school pictures and updates to come!!!  Beth
