Dallin turns nine

Whenever one of my children have a birthday I get out their baby book.  I made a goal to make a really good first year baby book for each child, and I'm so glad I did!  Dallin was the cutest baby ever.  Big blue eyes, adorable smile, round face...just a doll.  I look at all those old pictures and get all gooey and sentimental and then I start missing my babies and start wondering why I don't have anymore to take care of....

and then I remember that babies grow up so fast and before you know it they are nine....and all the crazy stuff that happens in between like sleepless nights and food allergies and countless ER visits and worries have become a faded memory and only the love you felt for that little cute baby and toddler remains.  I'm really glad to have those pictures!

Someday when he's 18 I will see this picture of me and him and think back to when he was nine.  I'm sure I'll long for the days when he wasn't too cool for me and he still loved hugs and kisses before bedtime and still helped me make cookies and playing Frisbee in the street was so much fun and riding his bike to the park was the most freedom he ever needed and getting a Nerf gun was all it took to make his birthday fantastic.  Yes, I'm sure I will look back and wonder how fast nine years could fly by, so for now I will cherish what nine is and not wish a single day of it away.  Dallin you are so loved.  Mom
