Tayla's birthday!

I've been really looking forward to Tayla's 6th birthday.  She had so much fun and is at the PERFECT age to get excited about everything!!  We started the day off with treats on the table (not sure when this tradition started, but the kids seem to love it!)  Notice the hot wheels?  She just needed some cars, she kept borrowing them from the boys and now she has a cool purple one and a blue and orange one!

Dinner was so easy!!  Her request?  Pizza and lettuce.

She was so excited opening presents!  It was so funny to watch, she was soooo hyper!

My Dad gave her this beautiful necklace from Mialisia.

Her cake was quite the failure in my eyes, but she LOVED it and that's all that matters right?  (She actually helped me decorate it and really enjoyed it-future baker in the making!!!)

For her friend party we decided to do an "art" party.  I was soooo excited for it.  I ordered these awesome invitations from this etsy shop.

Decorating was easy!  We just used art!  I saw this idea (on pinterest) to hang stuff with clothespins onto old mattress springs.  It looked so cool!

The first project was to decorate a take home bag to put their art projects in and little gifts.

Next we painted little canvasses that had the first letter of their name taped on it.  This project turned out to be so much fun!!

They all LOVED the end result when the tape was taken off.  Just a side note, you may notice there is one little boy at the party.  This is one of Tayla's best friends.  He lives directly behind us and they first met when they were three by talking to each other through a hole in the fence.  They ended up going to preschool together and they are constantly at each other's houses.  She wanted him to come soooo bad and begged him to come.  He was such a good sport about it and did most of the projects too!!  I know he felt quite outnumbered though!!

Next since we still had paint out we painted beads to string on necklaces.

This is when it got messy (and fun!!)

It was at this point that I realized we needed more time, so I quickly called parents and extended our party by a half hour.  We could have easily gone an hour more though.

We then created our own masterpieces to eat :)

After eating they decorated wands with markers (large popsicle sticks) and picked out ribbons to attach to them-this was a big hit!!

We then moved inside to eat cake and open gifts.

It was such a fun party!!!!  By far one of my favorites to plan and carry out.
