What would you do?

I'm having this dilemma...it's not a HUGE deal, but I just can't seem to decide what to do. In August during all the crazy plans for Kolby's baptism I lost the diamond in my wedding ring. It's not a big expensive diamond, but It's been driving me crazy that it's gone and I have this ugly ring on my finger now that snags on everything....

It's kind of blurry, but the diamond is gone. So I have taken weeks trying to decide what to do...part of me wants a whole new ring that fits my "grown-up" tastes more (come on I was 18 when I picked out this ring!!!) Another part of me wants to replace the diamond and just keep wearing this ring that was our first major purchase and has a lot of sentimental value to it. I'm just not sure what to do and until I make up my mind, I guess I will just have to wear my diamondless ring!

PS Kolby has already asked me for the diamondless ring to use when he gets married and he said he would buy a diamond for it. What kind of eight year old wants a free wedding ring? (he gets this from Kirks side of the family!) Beth

Oh how sad...my sister ended up getting a whole new ring after losing her diamond and she absolutely loves it. I would be torn too on what to do. Good luck!

My vote is you get the ring that you want. It is with you ALL the time you may as well love it! In the mean time you should go get one of those cheap rings from walmart with the huge diamonds just for fun instead of snagging your ring on everything. Good Luck!

I would get a new ring but keep the old one and save for a new diamond for the old one as an anniversary present down the road. Then you can wear them both. :)

I second Kelly's suggestion! :-)

I know this post is really old, but I didn't comment at first because I wanted to think about it... then life happened in between.

My first inclination would be to have the two bands separated and just wear the wedding band. I would then search and save up for a fantastic anniversary band to go with it.

This way you get the best of all worlds, it is no longer snagging on things, you get the sentimentality of still wearing the wedding band, and a chance to update to a ring that fits your current tastes.
