I just had my first official fundraising meeting for the pre-school. I think it was a success. This is my third year as fundraising chair, so I think I have a good foundation about what it is all about, but I still get worried. The success of the event depends heavily on my committee, and I have a lot of confidence in them. I like planning these things, and am pretty detail oriented, so things run pretty smoothly. There's so much work to do though, and there's no way I could do it all! I like being in charge, but there's so many people who can do certain things much better than me . I have no problem delegating tasks to everyone else, and making sure it gets done and that is why I think I'm a good leader. Anyway, the event isn't until April, but it feels so good to get the plans started and things set. I love watching the apprentice and when they have to organize a big event in a matter of days I wonder if I could handle all the pressure! It would be kindof fun though. I always do my best work under pressure. Talks written the night before, house cleaned an hour before the guests arrive, gifts bought on Christmas Eve....wait that isn't pressure, it's procrastination!! Oh well, it has proved to be some of my best work.

I too do my best work under pressure but I am also a planner so I've learned how to make the two work together. Mike is the opposite and it stresses him out!
What are you doing for the fundraiser?
