Daily thoughts

I haven't written lately because sometimes my life can seem so blah and boring I can't imagine anyone wanting to read about it! The "excitement" of my day today is finding Dallin in bed this morning covered in vomit, running out of laundry detergent (not a good combo) and feeling sick myself. (Not sure if it's from cleaning up from Dallin or just me getting a bug.) The boys don't have school tomorrow so I wanted to catch up on housework, but I don't feel like moving around too much so I folded tons of laundry that I put off. But, that project has come to a hault now because of the soap issue. I am trying to get the boys to rest or even just watch a movie so I can lay down, but of course that never happens when I need it. I think backto the time when I had only one child and so much time, yet I wasted so much of it. I would watch movies, shop, make cards, clean the house. I had so much time to myself it was crazy! I really get more done now with four kids then I ever did with one. I can see how much I have grown into my role and how much better I manage my time (no more sleeping in until 9:00! It's 6:00 every day.) I often have mothers who have one or two children ask me how I do it with four when they struggle with half that. I often tell them I don't have a choice! If I don't get going in the morning the boys won't get to school on time. If I don't plan meals for 15 days at a time I have to go to the store more than my 3 monthly trips. If I don't keep up with the laundry and dishes daily, it gets messy FAST. I'm happy that I've come so far. It involves so much self control and also putting off some of the things I'd rather be doing (like scrapbooking and practicing the piano). In the long run it will be worth it and hopefully when I have a house full of teenagers I will have this house running like clockwork. Well, I can dream at least....
