$1800 plus!!!

Our fundraiser Saturday was a huge success and we raised over $1800 dollars for the pre-school. We made it fun for the kids with a jumphouse, magician, balloon artist, beading crafts and yummy breakfast. This is the first year I felt like no one was in a hurry to leave or impatient. We actually had a hard time getting people to go! It ended at 11:30, but people were there until 12:00. It was a great way to end the year and now I let out a hugh sigh because I am taking a year off from pre-school, (Dallin isn't quite old enough). I just have to train the new fundraising chair for next year and we will be done. In a wierd way I will miss it so I need to get involved in my boys school more next year to keep me busy. This is a kind of slow week with a dentist apt. (for me), a book fair at the school (love these!), and Logan starts cub scouts today which he is very excited for! I was listening to the radio this morning and they were talking about the cost of weddings-saying an average is 20,000 dollars! Is it just me or is this a lot of money? I can't give an exact number of what we spent, but I know it wasn't near this. The most expensive thing was my ring which was $750.00. Next was the cake at $250.00. My sister designed the invites and did the decorating which costed very little. The stamps, tuxedos, and food weren't too extravagant, and my dress (the gal on the radio said her friend paid $10,000 for her dress!!!!) my dress was only 150.00! I bought a dress that had been a rental. We didn't even have a honeymoon which I regret a little, but we'll have one someday and enjoy it much more now than when we were first married. Anyway, we were very conservative and I'm glad. A huge wedding doesn't mean you will have the best marriage ever. It's getting married to the right person at the right time in the right place that mattered to me.
