Pre school madness

This year at Boise Cooperative Preschool I have been the president.  It's been a lot harder and more time consuming than I imagined.  The year was going awesome, but then around February we had a board member who seemed to have his own agenda and started throwing wrenches everywhere.  It has been a very trying few months filled with a lot of e-mails, contact with the lawyer multiple times a week, an emergency board meeting called, our election process overhauled and the budget/discount/scholarship worries discussed and (thankfully) resolved.  It is amazing how much havoc one person can cause.  I am in a unique position as president because as a cooperative we don't really have someone "in charge" to take all of the concerns to.  It has fallen on me.  BUT, it's all going to work out for the best and I don't see a future for him on the BCP board.  It has been very awkward as our children are in the same class, but I am glad the school year is almost over.  Tomorrow night is our board meeting where the new president will be elected and after I train her, she's taking over.  YEAH!!!!  

We had our big Spring fundraiser and bicycle rodeo on the 13th and it was a HUGE success!!  I don't know what I was thinking, but I volunteered to make a quilt to auction off.  I am not much of a quilter, and I learned a lot from many youtube videos!  It was a much bigger project than I anticipated.  It took hours and hours (I think around 25-30) to sew it and put it together.  Each hand print (after sewing all the edges which took FOREVER) was hand stitched.  My awesome friend helped me and it took us all weekend to finish the hand stitching.  It looked so cute though, and I felt really good when I finished it.  Here's some pictures of it:

At the end a really cool fire truck showed up and the kids all got to climb around and have fun in it!

I will really miss BCP.  It has been a perfect fit for our family.  We've been going there since Logan was 4, so it will be sad to leave, however, I am glad I will have a ton more time to devote to Elementary and Junior High School now.  I love being involved in the kids schools.  Beth
