Vacation part 2-Bryce Canyon

One of the best parts of the vacation was visiting Bryce Canyon!  I've seen pictures so many times, but seeing it in real life was amazing, breathtaking and inspiring.  There really isn't anything like it.  It's so stunning and beautiful and it changes colors depending on the light.  I loved it so much!!!  We stayed only about 30 minutes away from the park in a little town called Hatch.

Our first stop in the park, Bryce Point.

Warning: Worst family picture EVER!!!!  Oh well, proof we were there! (Yes, Logan is officially 1 inch taller than me now!!!)

The view made me a little dizzy.  It is so awesome though!!!!

We decided to take a trail-the Navajo loop-which took us down into the canyon.

Here's the starting view of the hike, you can see some people down there.

See the little dots on the bottom?  That's my kids leaving me in the dust.  It was a switch back trail-you can kind of see it.

At one point in the hike, with all these towering rocks around me, I felt really small.  I felt like an ant in a tunnel.  It was a little weird.

The pictures don't do it justice, but these trees were soooo tall and just growing up through the rock walls.  They were so beautiful!

We made it to the bottom, rested and then started back up.

This is one of my favorite pictures!!  The shadows look like a castle to me.

Some of the famous formations at Bryce Canyon.  Thor's Hammer on the left and Three Sisters on the right. (I really liked that one!!)  Someday I want a picture with my sisters in front of the Three Sisters formation!

This is me, so hot and sweaty from the hike and feeling like I'm going to have a heart attack and die!!!  That hike back up was killer.  I stopped on every switchback and just took pictures so I could catch my breath.  Geesh, I'm out of shape!!  Tayla stayed with me though!

Thor's Hammer again.

I have a ton more pictures, but I'll spare you for now!  It was a huge highlight of the trip to visit Bryce Canyon.  If you ever have the chance to go, it is soooo worth it.  It is one of those places that is magical.  It changes all the time and you can't believe what you are seeing.  It's like another world!
I can't wait to visit again!!!  Beth

This was a vacation we went on when I was young...and it made such an impression that I still remember it. I loved it. We did a horseback/ donkey back trail ride down the canyon. (haha! some were lucky and got a horse - and they had fun names too!) You may enjoy that with your family next time, I remember it so much!!! Having you go makes me want to go and make a memory with my family! I love love love that you do vacations!! So fun. I know they strengthened my family and were important, enough that I keep that tradition with my little family. :)

At least the girls were smiling in the family picture. We did the same hike and fortunately did the switchbacks first and I think we ran down them. It would be a killer going up those!
