It was "work" and it was fun!!

I had such an amazing night putting together a dessert bar for Sound Wave Music.  They had an open house for their new beautiful office!  It was a great way for me to meet people too.  Most of the people who came by are somehow involved with weddings/brides and I gave out tons of business cards.  Some of my favorite comments about my food were that it looked pretty and tasted even better, the cake pops weren't dry and they looked so smooth and nice (from a caterer who has tried to make cake pops and knew how hard they are!), that all my food tasted so much better because it was homemade.  I had a wedding planner rave to me too and mentioned she will be telling her brides about me.  I would love to do showers or parties too!  It was a great night and a huge confidence booster.  I also loved how people were taking plates of desserts home to share with their families!  I also tried a new item: chocolate mousse and it was a huge hit!  I'm really glad I got the chance to do this dessert bar, it has really prepared me for the wedding and I have a better idea what I need to do different to make it better.  One thing I'm sooo glad I did was hire an assistant.  She's one of my young women and she was amazing!  She helped me so much and kept the desserts stocked through the whole evening.  I'm definitely using her for the wedding in August!

Here's some pictures from the night!

I was so excited to find these great trays at Standard Restaurant Supply.  They were cookie sheet size and had lids so I could stack them in the fridge.  I ended up having 10 full sheets of desserts plus a bag of cookies!  I have no idea where I'm putting the wedding foods!  I ended up using my neighbors fridge for some of these.  I may need to invest in a second fridge for the garage!  Have a sweet day!!  Beth

So do you have to have your kitchen approved by someone from the state or wherever since you're essentially selling food? The only reason I ask is because when I did the Farmer's Market a few years ago, the girl in the booth next to us was selling cookies & pies and told us all about the process of having to find a certified kitchen. Oh and a lady in our church who does wedding cakes had to recently change somethings in her kitchen when she officially opened her business.

Everything looks really pretty! Good job! :)
