I just wanted to share a few of my collage pages from my Body Restoration class. We are in week 4 of 6 and it has really been a good class. I am learning to appreciate my body that houses my soul. EVERYTHING that I enjoy doing and all my talents are shown through my body. Our bodies are amazing and a gift and should be treated as such. The lessons have been wonderful. This is our first collage, using our eyes. It was a good beginning!
The next two collages are from our second week. It was a really good week for me. It was about how we see ourselves through "terrorist glasses" and "soul eyes" I spent a lot of time making the pages because I wanted to let the lesson really sink in.
Making the "terrorist glasses" collage made me sad at first and then angry. All the negative things we say about ourselves aren't true. They are hurtful and horrible. The words are so ugly. I've spent a long time wearing these glasses. It made me realize how lies make us feel, and I certainly don't want to feel that way anymore!! I noticed another benefit to doing these collages, my kids are watching me. They see my work out on the table as it dries, they ask me about it. They really like looking at it. I am usually really embarrassed to share my work, but I am freely sharing now!!
I love the way you can lift up the sheet of velum and see the eyes underneath.
Doing the "soul eyes" collage after the "terrorist glasses" was like a breath of fresh air. I wanted to make it beautiful and real because that is how the truth feels. This is my favorite collage out of my whole book so far (I have about 8 now) I love to look at it and remind myself how I should see me. It has also helped me to realize how I see others (which happened to be week 3's lesson!!)
I'll share some more pages next week. I really love doing the "art and soul work" I think it is amazing how when you take time to heal your soul, your body naturally reacts and you don't have to worry about it anymore. I'm looking forward to applying these lessons for the rest of my life!!! Beth

Love it. I'm glad you're done with the terrorist eyes, too. Just reading those pages I felt bad.
Beautiful work. Beautiful person. My beautiful Beth.
