I have to admit, I was more excited for Tayla's fourth birthday than she was. It was like everything worked out this year and I had the time and energy and I could actually throw her a party!! I started planning this months ago. I find a lot of joy in the creative process and LOVE planning parties. The first step I take is deciding on a theme and colors. I wanted to do anything BUT pink and princess. I remembered a quilt that her great grandma Allred gave her years ago and suddenly I had an idea!!
I even ordered a doll for Tayla so she could know who Raggedy Ann is. She loves her!!
I set a date (a week after her birthday) and just started planning all the fun details. I pinned a lot of ideas on pinterest, but ended up with a lot of my own. Here are some of the fun details from the day!
| Puffcorn for the movie |
| Fabric garland |
| Love how the sign turned out! |
| The lunch table |
| We blew up over 50 balloons for the party!! (Kirk brought me home a helium tank from work) |
| Dessert table |
| It's hard to see, but I used pictures of Raggedy Ann on the jars, they were so cute!! |
| My fearless party helper for the day-Hannah!! (Kirk was out of town with the two older boys and I knew I couldn't pull this off alone!!) |
| The party guests! |
| I hung up these vintage pictures all over the place |
| Party games-follow the leader and don't let the balloon touch the ground. |
| Eating lunch-sandwiches, berries, jello, carrots and juice. I found the cute red plates on clearance at Fred Meyers and the little red berry cups were 3 for $1.00 at Dollar Tree. I love stuff I can use again. |
| Pin the hair on Raggedy Ann |
| Tayla loved these little birds from Hobby Lobby, so I had to find a way to use them! |
| At the end we ate all the yummy treats and watched some Raggedy Ann and Andy cartoons. |
The party was amazing and so much fun!! The kids all enjoyed themselves and were so good. I wish I could do a party every week! It's so much work, but it's so fun doing all the little details too. Hope you enjoyed the pictures!! Beth
