I know I posted this on Facebook, but wanted to record it on here too! On Thursday we were getting ready for the day, just having breakfast and getting dressed. Kolby had a dentist apt at 8:00, so I was getting Tayla out of bed. Kolby came inside after a short little bike ride and his leg was covered in blood. His chain fell off and he was going pretty fast. He was in a lot of pain and was white as a ghost. I helped clean it up and just had a really uneasy feeling about it. It looked so bad, and deep. I decided to take him in. We canceled the dentist, found Tayla a sitter and went downtown. I always feel stupid when I take my kids in. Am I over reacting? Am I just crazy!! (don't answer that!) I'm glad I took him in. There is NO WAY I could have cleaned it like they did. They numbed it first, and then cleaned it up really good. There was dirt "tattooed" in it as the Doctor said. This is after they cleaned it up:
They didn't stitch it up though, the risk of infection was too high with all the dirt they couldn't clean out. So, we are just taking care of it and keeping it clean. I just hate it when my kids get hurt!! I don't think I'll ever get used to it. I'm so glad it wasn't worse. Beth

Ouchie, owie, owie! He's going to have a scar to brag about...that's a doozy. Heal up quickly kiddo!
That is nasty. Glad he didn't break anything.
I always feel stupid when I take my kids in too. I took Rachel in when she cut her eye lid after falling in the bath tub. It seemed like it was bleeding so much and from her eye but it turned out to be her eye lid. They put a bit of glue on it and called it good. She has a little scar.
