8 is GREAT!!!

It is never easy to be a middle child.  You don't get to have all the "fun" like the big kids, but you also don't get all the "attention" like the little ones.  You are in the middle and sometimes feel like you can't breathe...but Preston sure holds his own!  Sometimes I forget he isn't that old!  He is some what shy, but can talk your ear off if given a chance.  And his memory is so sharp.  He doesn't like the spotlight, but is in second place at school for running the most miles (he hit 200 miles on Friday!!)  He knows what he likes, what he doesn't like and just lives his life to the fullest!

I have the best memories after I had Preston.  He was such a great baby.  It was a great pregnancy, quick labor and awesome recovery.  Logan and Kolby had each other, I had Preston.  He had cheeks like no other!  And his smile just melted me.  He loved to unroll the toilet paper and get into trouble.  Now, in a wink of an eye, he is turning eight.  He is still finding his place in the family.  His confidence is growing each day.  He has made huge strides this year in school.  He is so smart with numbers and doing puzzles.  He is becoming a great reader as well.

He is a good, hard worker (the best one I have!!)  He loves to garden, use the weed eater, ride his bike, make fires, eat eat eat, and is really good with babies and younger children.  After I had Tayla he held her more than anyone.  He used to hate pictures, but he let me take plenty while he held her.  He loves his little cousins too and often talks about how cute they are.  Preston has such a big heart.  I am so glad to have a wonderful son like him.

He writes me little notes and likes it when I arrange his blankets at night.  He loves to help me organize and clean up the house.  Our family is blessed with him in our home.  We are excited to celebrate his special day, and especially excited for him to be baptized next month in Michigan.

Happy Birthday!!! Mommy

What a sweet, sweet post. I love your kids, Beth. It has been such a blessing being with them in primary. And its fun to see more of them on your blog than I get to see at church :).
