Who in the world came up with a holiday to be celebrated in America that involves green and leprechauns and Irish?! Not my favorite holiday. It is a fun day to start traditions, and color the milk green and such nonsense, but not my favorite. In third grade I passed out little note cards that said what would happen if you wore certain colors. It wasn't fair that green and red were all the rage. So I came up with hugs if you wore yellow, you're sad if you wore blue, and don't ask what happened if you wore orange. I told my boys about it and last year they had a ball with these new color options. So today in honor of my dislike for this holiday, even though my favorite color is green (ironic, I know) I will be wearing black, and Tayla will be wearing pink which means "I am a princess and I dare you to try and pinch me" And Dallin and his brothers are wearing blue because that is the school dress code.
Have a lucky day!

Maryn came home from from preschool today saying leprechauns come in the middle of the night and do things to our house like put salt in our cereal and if we wake up while they are causing trouble they make us dead. LOVELY.
It can be a fun holiday and I used to get excited about it when I was younger and made sure I wore green. Funny enough, I wore black today also(well, I was wearing yellow this morning, but then Elise threw-up on it). I didn't do one single St. Patricks Day thing. Didn't even dress Elise in green either. Maybe it will get fun again when our children grow older??? :)
