Arrow of Light

I know today is my birthday, but that post will just have to wait until tomorrow when I have fun pictures to document my day...I am going to tell you all about my son Logan and how proud I am of him.

Tonight he was awarded the Arrow of Light award. It's the highest award you can earn in cub scouts. He has worked so hard on this. He went above and beyond! I am so so thankful for the awesome leaders he had. He was the only 10 year old but that never stopped them from making things special. I know it is hard sometimes to put so much effort into something when there is only one child, but they still did!

You should have seen the stage they set up for him to receive the award! It was a camping scene with a tent, fire pit, sleeping bags and coolers. It was so cool! My pictures don't do it justice. The lights were out and they had a fake fire burning in the pit. He was thrilled to get a scouting handbook as well! He was reading it on the way home and all ready has a list of gear he needs to save for to be prepared for a hike. OH BOY!!! I am glad he is so enthusiastic about scouts. I haven't really had to push him along, he was always pulling me! He went above and beyond. Here is a list of all of his awards he has earned during his cub scout years:

Bear, three arrow points (which means he did 30 extra requirements)

Cub Scout leave no trace awareness award

Belt loops for citizenship, BB Shooting, geology, archery, chess, fishing, tennis and basketball (twice)

Religious knot

Webelos badge

Activity badges for Athlete, Citizen, Engineer, Family Member, Fitness, Geologist, Handyman, Naturalist, Outdoorsman, Readyman, Scholar and Traveler

Compass points emblem badge and one compass point

BSA Year of Celebration patch and service ribbon

Way to go Logan! You are such a good boy and I know you will have so much fun in Boy Scouts!
