Mystique!

I was really looking forward to last night!!! The tickets were bought, the reservations were made, my sister flew in from Salt Lake and my Dad turned 60. All these little things added up to a fun, memorable night for us!

The restaurant was fun and dramatic. You walk into an amazing atmosphere. Crazy, spooky, loud music plays and you enter through tall doors into the dining chamber. The "butlers" were actors and I was expecting a more serious tone to the evening. WRONG!!! They had all kinds of jokes going on, teasing, plates crashing and even watching you eat the very last bite. Or if you didn't eat the last bite trying to coax you into eating it. We had tons of laughs.

The worst part was the food. At $60.00 a ticket, I was really expecting good food. I am not a restaurant critic, but they really need to improve this part! You had your choice of entree: beef, poultry, seafood or vegetarian. The beef dinner was by far the best one. Mine was poultry and it was just strange. A tiny piece of meat, blueberries on the bottom, two carrots and in the words of my sister "baby food mashed sweet potatoes" The meal also included an appetizer, salad, sorbet and dessert with cheesecake and chocolate strawberries. Dessert was good, and they gave my Dad a birthday candle. Sweet!

After dessert was our own personal magic show. With only 8 of us at the table built for 18 we got a really good show and were so close to the magician. He did mostly card tricks and some money and rubber band tricks. He was funny and did some great tricks, but I wanted some MAGIC!! They have other magicians and change them every 8 weeks or so, but I don't have the desire to return. It was fun and we had a good time, and we've never had a dinner quite like it, but it will be one of those one time things for me.
