It isn't a fun weekend without a fire!

A few happenings to update you all!

First I was finally able to go check out the new Hobby Lobby in Meridian. I have been in love with this store for years because my sister in Utah lives near one. It was a must see every time I visited her! I am thrilled we have one now. I did have a small disappointment as I saw many empty shelves near the scrapbooking area, but I am sure they will be fully stocked soon.

I did manage to pick up some ribbons. Near the fabric area they sell these bags of ribbons for $1.99. There are 2 yards of 15 different ribbons. It is a great deal, and I get so many new ribbons!

Kirk's brother and his wife came and spent a few days with us. They were married in October, and are so cute! I am so happy for his brother. We love it when they come because they like to have fun with the kids. Plenty of basketball, hiking up the mountain at camels back park, reading stories, watching movies and eating snacks happened. It was a fun time!

Another great thing about this weekend is my books came!!! I have been working on blog books for a few months now, and wanted one for each year. This is the 2008 and 2009 books, my 2007 hasn't arrived yet. They turned out so cute!!! And my boys love to hear my posts about them and funny stories that have happened. I used Blurb to make my books. They have a special program that "slurps" your blog posts and pictures and then you can arrange them into a book. I added extra pictures as well. Each book is a little over 100 pages and cost around $35.00. It is cheaper for a softback book, and mine did have a lot of pages so the cost was a little higher, but the books start at around $13.00 and the quality is wonderful!
Last but not least is our fire. It was thankfully contained in the microwave, but it was very stinky!! I am going microwave shopping today. You don't realize how much you use something until you don't have one!! I had to warm up left-over pizza for lunch yesterday in the oven.
Here's to a wonderful week! Can't wait for March to get here!

I'm glad the fire wasn't more serious!

Good thing it didn't blow up! The blog book is such a wonderful idea. I've heard of doing it but wasn't sure how to go about it.

I'm so happy your blog books turned out so well.

I can't say I'm sad that your microwave kicked it. It definitely had a mind of its own on Friday.

Those blog books are GREAT! :) I don't know if I have enough photos to make one very interesting, but it'd be a great way to actually *preserve* what's out there, sans electricity! :)
