Once a year I ask my family to endure an hour of torture. I make them wear new shirts and pants. Hair is combed-NO HATS for Kirk, and PLEASE look happy! I take them to a park and we give the photographer the biggest challenge of her life. It is a selfish request on my part, but all the effort is worth it! I just need proof that my boys can have clean faces and that our pants don't always have holes and grass stains. I need proof that I really can fix my hair and wear make-up. I need solid evidence that we really do have this many children under the age of ten and we are still in love. I need to see my family gathered around me in a photograph to last forever. They are growing so fast and for one night I can capture their youth. For one moment we are clean and smiling and it is all I need to get me through another year.
Wish us luck at our torture session tonight! Beth

Good Luck tonight! I know they did great last year, I know they can do it again. :)
I love how you call it a torture session. I feel the same way. GOOD LUCK and may the spirit of calmness and smiles head your way. A cute picture I have seen people do is they have the mom and dad kissing and all the kids are looking grossed out and pulling them in every direction possible. We are going to try that next month with our pictures.
Speaking of which...I need to book our torture session soon. It's getting to where our sessions will be further and further apart with missions, college and all.
