Happy December!

Thanksgiving is over, and we had a wonderful time with all my family here for dinner (that's 10 adults and 12 children) We just moved out the furniture and set up tables in our front room. We had a really fun weekend. Now it is December, and what a way to start-I have jury duty! Well, I haven't been called in...yet. I have been getting "back-up" sitters for each day just in case. I have this killer feeling I will be going in by Wednesday. Why can't they accept the excuse of "I have young children at home who don't have a daycare to go to" Last time I had jury duty they took the excuse of "I am due to have a baby that week" (it was true!) Anyway, I can't complain, I will just do my duty. Tonight should be fun, Logan is singing in the school choir for the Garden City tree lighting. He loves to sing. Speaking of singing, did you see me during the Hymns of Thanksgiving concert on PBS? I was shown a few times and my boys thought it was so so cool to see mom on TV. (Well even I thought it was cool!) I can't believe it's December allready, it seems like I just got used to writing 2008.....how the time flies. Beth

Glad everything went well for Thanksgiving! I totally understand about trying to find any excuse to get out jury duty. I always used to have my employer bail me out but I don't have that to fall back on anymore.

My sister (Linda) reminded me that we can get out of it by telling them we have a family member who is a police officer. I'll be using that one as long as possible.

I've been summoned for jury duty 3 times in the last 4 years. Every member of my family gets called to do jury duty more than our fair share. Most of the times we are the luck ones to get to sit on the jury. We joke that it is our family curse.

It was good to see you, even for just a few minutes, on Sunday. Thanks for making my birthday great!
Have a wonderful December! I'm sure there will lots of fun in your house as Christmas gets closer.
