Down and Derby!

We got back from our trip late Monday night and the pinewood derby was the next day!!! Kirk spent a few hours sanding and cutting the car and the next day after swimming I helped carve and put on the weights, and Logan painted. When Kirk got home from work, he secured the wheels on and we were off! We made sure it weighed exactly 5 ounces. Logan won every race he was in! The car was sure fast! He made it to the semi-finals and got second. He was so happy and the look on his face after winning those first three races was gold. Last year he didn't do so hot. I guess we all work well under pressure! Good job Logan! When we got home we watched "Down and Derby" a pretty funny movie about how some Dads can obsess about the cars and winning. The boys really enjoyed it and Kolby allready has a hot wheel he wants to pattern his car after for next year. I know they say winning isn't everything, but it sure was exciting for our family to see Logan winning all those times! Beth
