I've been keeping busy planning the big Relief Society birthday dinner for March 11th. I'm so excited! I love being in charge of stuff like this! I wrote a program that has three soloists and a woman's chorus, dinner is going to be so yummy, the decorations are going to be beautiful and don't even get me started on the dessert table....I'm really excited!! I will have lots of fun pictures to post from that event I'm sure! This Sunday I am teaching again, but they called a new teacher, so my substitute job is over. I was so sad to hear that. I will miss it for sure! I hope I have more chances to teach in the future.
I had to go to the dentist yesterday. More awesome news about my ever decaying mouth. One of my teeth has completely died and is majorly infected, and another is on its way. I started meds for the infection and go in next week for root canal number 1. The good part is I don't have any pain. I didn't even know anything was wrong because the tooth that died is on the side I had all of those other teeth removed so I never chew on that side. I didn't even know that tooth was in trouble!! I just noticed a huge bump on my gums and I knew what that was from previous abscessed teeth. Anyway, two root canals seem like a cake walk compared to the other junk I have dealt with. I still don't understand why I have all these teeth problems! I have been especially diligent in taking care of my teeth since I only chew on one side. My dentist was somehow inspired by me though and went to training in October to become certified to do implants. This would save me thousands of dollars! He goes to classes weekly and just has to buy the equipment. I am so glad he decided to do it. I hope by next year to have new teeth!!
I've been doing lots of fun art! Tayla loves to do art so it's a regular afternoon activity for us. We spread out all over the kitchen table and just create. One day I set up all the paints and supplies and surprised Tayla when she got home from school. We made bracelets yesterday and they are so addicting!! If I was craft leader at girls camp again this is what we would make!! I'm in another brave girls class called the walk and it is amazing so far!! There's a facebook support page for the class and it is so sad the things these women have lived through. I don't have a lot of stuff I need to sort through, I just take the classes for the fun art and the motivation, but the women who share on the page have had some really tough lives. It brings out several feelings in my heart. First of all sympathy. Second of all learning to be non-judgmental. Third gratitude. I will deal with my teeth stuff happily. It's NOTHING compared to the trauma I read about. Stuff you only hear in the news. It's a great support group though, and many of the women are finding help for the issues they face. Last month my lesson was about trials and as I was thinking about it, I haven't really had big major trials. I have a lot of life left to live though and I hope I can face whatever comes with faith and hope.
I made some yummy cupcakes for a baby shower. I get lots of orders from teachers and am even doing Tayla's teachers wedding the end of June! Cupcakes are challenging, but they seem to stress me out less than the cake pops. Cake pops just take so much more time because you have to dip them all individually. These flavors are white with strawberry buttercream and chocolate with white chocolate cream. They are sooooo yummy!!! Seriously that strawberry frosting I could just eat by the spoonful!
Last of all I wanted to share a picture I posted on facebook. I was just having a really curly hair day from all the humidity and wanted to share! I got tons of really nice comments and now I am wearing my hair curly more. Usually I just curl parts of my hair with a curling iron and the natural curl enhances the curls. It's not very often I wear just my curls. It's an easy style though! Happy Friday everyone!! Beth
