Five before my eyes

Tayla's birthday has been the hardest on me.  I don't know what it is, but it seems like when your "baby" turns FIVE they are no longer a baby.  They are independent and seem to know everything.  They just don't need you as much.

My BABY is FIVE?????

I'm just glad she didn't go to Kindergarten yet.  I don't think my heart could handle it.  She's like my little friend.  We have so much fun all day, cooking, crafting, shopping, watching pony movies.  I would be really lonely without her around!

Her birthday was so much fun.  She was the most excited girl EVER!!!!  I let her choose whatever she wanted to do that day.   So she stayed in her jammies until noon.  Then we went and had a happy meal and a sonic drink with a cherry (she loves the cherries!!)

Before I show you her birthday pictures, just take a look at this picture I found of myself when I was about her age.  Crazy huh?

For her birthday dinner she wanted Domino's cheese pizza and sprite.  Oh my goodness, this girl is amazing! I didn't have to cook a thing.  We also ate off paper plates which she loved.  Easy day for me!!

She loved her gifts from us and from Grandpa.

Every birthday my dad decorated the card envelopes with tons of candy.  It is a huge highlight and the kids LOVE getting cards from him.  I think they remember this more than anything else!

For her "big" gift this year I bought her this horse stable.  It has 5 horses inside and some wooden hay bales. She loves it so much and plays with it all the time.  I didn't even know what to get her but when we were shopping for Dallin's gift she played with this the whole time we were at the toy store.  (I LOVE the Children's Store-everything there is awesome and educational.  No crazy stuff from movies, just good quality toys for kids.  I got Dallin a circuit building set there.)

Plain cheesecake for dessert.  Again-easy peasy!!

How happy I am to have Tayla in my life.  She adds so much sparkle and personality to our family.  She is so much fun (can you tell from her face in her pictures!!)  I really hope through the years that we continue to have such a great relationship.  I love her so much!!  She has four of the best big brothers and as she grows up I see how needed they are in her life.  She is the princess around here, but she is more of a Mulan type of princess!  We love you Tayla!  Beth
