We have a Winner!!!

Preston (and Kirk) worked so hard on his pinewood derby car.  It was many nights of sanding and painting and even last minute drilling to fit the extra weights inside without ruining the coolness of the car.  They used John Deere green spray paint.  And guess what!!  Preston took first place!!  I was close to tears.  I don't think winning is everything and I certainly wish all the boys there could have won, but Preston winning had so much deeper meaning to me.  It must be that 3rd child thing, but he NEEDED to win.  He needed that huge boost of confidence.  He totally deserved the bragging rights (none of the other boys took first during their years of cub scouts)  I consider it a huge tender mercy that he won.  I am so happy for him.  I know he felt soooo embarrassed, but he was shining all night and this morning.  Way to go Preston!!!!!
