A tradition is born.

Tayla and I had a wonderful weekend! She is so good and quiet and helpful-even at her young age! We cleaned up the house first so I could have some guilt free fun. It didn't take very long to clean. I was amazed! We went shopping for the birthday boy-Preston, rented some movies, got some dinner and enjoyed a nice evening at home. As Tayla gets older I can't wait to do more with her! This weekend without the boys will be a nice tradition for us!

I picked up some cute couch covers at Target:

When the boys walked in, they thought I bought new couches!

On Saturday morning I did a big grocery shopping trip and made this for Preston:

The boys returned earlier than I had planned (around 12:00) so we cleaned up all the camping mess, got the showers going, did some laundry and prepared dinner for Preston's birthday. He had fun opening his gifts and eating steaks. He is the big seven now. Hard to believe!

My goal this week is to learn how to drive Kirks truck so I am not left without a car this weekend. I am not looking forward to it, but hear that I will love driving a stick. I didn't get to the garden or scrapbooking, so looks like this next weekend is going to be fun too! Beth

Such an adorable cake!!! Very cool on couch covers...how did you find ones that fit so well? Good luck on driving the stick...we totally should've took ya out when we were up there. It's like learning how to drive all over again!

Awesome cake!!! What a great, creative idea!!! :-)

Driving a stick is really fun, IMHO - at least it makes me feel like I know what I'm doing with a car, LOL! You start to understand some of the workings and really "connect" with it. Hope it's going well for ya!!! :-)
