Tayla turns one!

It seems like yesterday I was blogging about my pregnancy, and then my new baby girl, and now she is one year old! I don't know what I did before Tayla to get my girl fix, but now that she's here I have had so much fun shopping and making headbands and doing all the "girl" things. For her birthday we started off with a chocolate muffin....she loved it!

After this we went to the mall and shopped for a new dress while Dallin was at pre-school. We decided on this one which will be so pretty on her with her blue eyes! I can't wait for her to wear it on Sunday!

After shopping Tayla took a much needed nap and I made a homemade yellow cake with pink and purple frosting.

We had her favorite dinner: french fries (the really big steak ones) and chicken, and opened presents. She had so much fun and really loved her gifts and cake!

I also bought her these cute wooden dolls and plan on adding to her dollhouse collection each holiday so when she's old enough to play with an actual dollhouse she will have lots of stuff for it! (I am hoping Kirk will build the doll house since they are WAY overpriced in the stores!)

It was a fun day for Tayla and we are having a little bigger party on Saturday for family and friends. She also had her 1 year check-up today and she's 18 pounds 11 ounces and 29 inches. That's only 25% weight and 75% height! I think she will have a build like Kolby-tall and thin. What a lucky girl! Beth

Happy Birthday Tayla! Time has just flown by! The cake looked great. I so know what you mean about the doll houses being expensive but all little girl need doll houses. There are a lot of neat kits you can get for a reasonable price.
