It's Jared!

The 3rd-6th grade classes at Garden City Community School were invited to hear Jared (think Subway) speak at the grove on Friday. It was really fun and he is such a nice guy. His story is very inspiring and he is on a tour to help kids. After he spoke we were treated to free lunch of milk, subway sandwiches, cookies and fruit. The kids also got a free pedometer. It was a crazy/fun field trip!
This morning I took the boys down to the women's fitness celebration to cheer everyone on. It didn't work out for me to walk this year (I have in the past) but I didn't want to miss it and I have never been able to watch the wheelchair race or the runners. It was very rainy but they all wanted to go still!
Once the racers started coming by the boys really got into it and stood on the side to give high fives to the racers. I hope we encouraged some of them since the finish line was in sight. We got a lot of "thank you's" and "how cutes" and smiles. The boys really liked it and I did too. They said they want to be in a race now and what perfect timing because Garden City boys and girls club is having a race (5K or 1 mile) on October 11th! I'm excited to do it with them! Beth
