My first day of pre-school!

This is where I spent my morning with 3 and 4 year olds. I am tired!
Here are some views of the classroom-this shows an art center where they can cut, glue and draw, there's also large wooden blocks to build with

Here is the reading center, smaller blocks and building toys like legos, train tracks and large puzzles.

This picture shows the circle carpet where they sing songs and read books and the dramatic play area which changes every couple of months (this month is a home theme)

One of the things I love about our pre-school is the chance I have to help 1 or 2 times a month in class. I can get to know the other children, the teacher and the other parents I help with. (there are 2 parent helpers each class). I was helper today and brought cupcakes for Dallins birthday. It was fun to spend the class with him, and a little messy with all the future artists in his class! The painting was very messy today, one of the girls had a brush in each hand and covered two large papers and much of the easel! I was also in charge of the art project which was really fun. You take two marbles and dip them in paint then you put a piece of paper in a box and roll the marbles around on the paper. It makes some very cool artwork and the kids LOVED it! We were all covered in paint though because the kids would get it on thier hands and touch thier faces. That's the fun of pre-school though, the freedom to explore and paint and get messy.

Here is Dallin as we sang Happy Birthday to him.
The room we are in has a chalkboard, painting area, playdough table, water table and sensory table which is filled with rice right now. (it changes every couple of months) There is also a sink in this room to clean hands, paintbrushes and wash dishes. There are also cubbies for coats and nametags.

Here are the kids digging into their cupcakes. (there's 16 students in his class)

This is Dallin in the "share" chair. When your parent is the helper you get to bring one thing from home to share. This is a very big deal for the kids and Dallin brought this little remote control car he got for his birthday from Logan.

I didn't take a picture of the outdoor play area but there is a big sandbox, 5 trikes for riding, a rainbow play system with a slide, monkey bars and tire swing. It's a really fun place to play. I had a good time at pre-school and can't wait to go again next month! Beth

Too cute!!! :-) I'm glad you had such a good time! :-) What a neat opportunity - especially when it's as entertaining for the adult as the kids! :-)

I love preschool time. They think they are so BIG. It is awesome that you get to go help every month. I wish I could do that, but I think bringing 3 kids with you isn't very helpful.
