Sad Monday Spotlight

I allmost skipped this Monday's spotlight because of the sad events that have happened this weekend, but I decided to spotlight our dear friend and neighbor who died suddenly on Saturday night: Tim Perry. We've been here 8 years now, and the Perrys have lived just down the street from us the whole time. Our families got along well. They have two daughters ages 16 and 14 and a son age 10. We worked together in many church callings and Kirk has been working with Tim in the bishopric for 3 years now. He was the first counselor. I don't even know what to say about Tim. He was sort of a father figure to me and Kirk. He was 43. He always helped us out around the house, tilling our garden every year, or helping Kirk with his International (Tim also has an International) and we loved helping them with their yard. They always had a project going on and their yard was so fun for the boys to play in. Tim built a tree house with a slide and they have a trampoline and hammock. My boys LOVED going over when they irrigated the yard so they could look for worms and get all muddy! Tim cared about the boys. He teased them, hugged them and talked to them. Brother Perry was their favorite! He's even baby sat them when we were in a pinch. (like when Preston broke his arm) He was the kind of man everyone loved. Always up beat and smiling, kind of mischeivious like a kid sometimes! He lived his life to the fullest. He was so active with hunting, camping, work projects, church. Church was so sad yesterday. They announced it and everyone just was crying and quiet. Even with the knowledge I have, I have a hurt in my tummy that won't go away. I am so sad for the girls to lose their Dad so young, I am so sad for Lisa who didn't get her tropical vacation with him for their 15th anniversary. I'm so sad for our ward who lost a great leader and friend. I know he would have no regrets. He loved his family so much. They did everything together. He was an awesome dad and husband. We looked up to their family and wanted to be like them. His funeral is Wednesday and I know so many people will be there because he touched so many people and everyone just loved him! He served the ward with all his heart and made everyone feel special. I'm just going to miss him. I'll miss waving to him everyday as he drove by. It's like you get used to having someone there all the time, like a habit, and when they're gone it just doesn't feel right. I don't know what else to write, I'm just really sad.

Oh Beth! How sad. Especially with the holidays upon us. I'll be praying for his family and friends on Wednesday.
