Preston got his hard cast on yesterday. He chose blue and it only goes up to his elbow. It looks very cool and I think he likes it too. He is so glad he doesn't have to wear his sling anymore! While we were at St Lukes Meridian getting the cast on they were having a huge book sale. I love books and couldn't resit. The prices were awesome! I bought way too much, but it was fun. And it was for a good cause :) We had a great weekend. I was able to watch all four sessions of General Conference and feel so thankful for the inspiration of the prophet and apostles. It helped me resolve to do better each day with my personal and family prayers, scripture study and service to others.
On Monday Kirk and I did a demonstration for Logan's class. Since he works at Norco he has access to wierd things like helium (there's a tank in my garage all the time) and liquid nitrogen. We showed the class how to make ice cream with liquid nitrogen. It was awesome and the kids all got to taste two kinds: Vanilla and Rootbeer. You mix the ingredients in a big metal bowl, then you pour the LN in. It smokes and bubbles like dry ice and as you stir it freezes the ingredients and makes perfect soft ice-cream. Of all the years of school and pre-school this is the first time Kirk has made an effort to get involved. I was so glad and I think he had fun too. It's not that he doesn't care about the boys schooling, but he is shy and likes to stand and watch. I think the relaxed atmosphere of the school and the great teachers helped him to want to get involved. Oh ya, Kolby's mantis is still alive and kicking. We realized it didn't have any water, so once it did, it looked a lot better. His best friend Dylan caught one too, so they are helping each other catch crickets to feed them. Ahhh the joys of boys. There is no school Thursday and Friday and that means I need a plan fast. I do have a pass to the Discovery Center and may attempt it. We'll see how brave I feel. Better go and get something done before pre-school pick-up. Beth

Sounds like you've been a busy mommy! I know how you feel! I long for some quiet time. Just a few minutes. But I know it will be too soon that my boys are all grown up and I'll want the busyness back! :)
