Lonely Day?

Well it is official. Logan and Kolby started school today. I thought I would be so excited, but I feel lonely and sad. I still have Preston and Dallin home, but after all summer with four boys, the house feels empty! It will be a huge adjustment not only for me but also the boys. They have wonderful teachers and the school is awesome! They don't even have a permanent location yet. They are meeting in a church right now for 3-4 weeks. But the school is awesome! I have realized you can have millions of dollars to build new schools and have huge playground equiptment, but that doesn't make it a good school. The teachers, parents and philosophy are what make a great school. That is why I am so excited about this charter school and the things my boys are going to learn. I am glad the founder, Matthew Shiparo, had the vision he did and went forth to make it come true. It is amazing the lives that will be shaped and changed by his dream. More updates to come on school.
This weekend was nice to have three days with Kirk home. He felt great and did projects around the house we have been neglecting. Our bathroom upstairs has been a work in progress for months and months now. He finished sealing the tile and started stripping the paint. It will be nice to have two showers again! My goal this month is shape up the yard. It is so full of junk and broken boards, toys and just plain garbage! The boys keep making forts and it is a mess. Our swingset gave out a few weeks ago so now we have pieces of that everywhere too! I think I need a huge dumpster to put everything in. Preston can help me with it too. He's a great helper.
Dallins birthday is on Friday and he will be two! I was thinking of a fun playdate/party I could have but then I thought of all the work it would be to put it on and I don't think I'm going to do it. I have changed so much from when I first had Logan. I would plan for weeks with a theme, colors, fancy invitations, sparkling house and yard for his parties. I loved it but I also got so stressed out! I've learned that I was doing it more for me to show off what a great party I could throw and I don't know if he had all that much fun. I spent way too much money too. Now I make their favorite dinner, and cake and we invite grandma & grandpa. If they want a friend party it can only be as many friends as they are old and it is not a huge expensive thing. My stress level is much lower now and the boys still enjoy their birthdays. I'm glad I've learned to simplify.
Well, I need to get on with my lonely day. Can't wait to pick up the boys at 3:15!!
Beth
