Birthday FUN!!!

Well, true to my "type 1" nature, I LOVE birthdays!!  I plan all kinds of fun adventures and love to celebrate with other people.  I love gifts and attention and lots of FUN.  It was also the first day of spring break so I had all my kids home to celebrate with me!  I started the day off early with some clothes shopping for myself (my birthday tradition) and picked up some Raedeens cinnamon rolls for everyone.

If you haven't had these before....OH..MY....you NEED to try these!!!

My Mom then took me on a "shopping spree" at Hobby Lobby and lunch at Kneaders.  It was so much fun!!  I even found this awesome "B"  I also got some ribbons, super cute brads (the kind I would never buy for myself because they are $5.00, but hey, happy birthday!!), a huge bag of cute buttons and a "B" to decorate.  Thanks so much Mom!!!!

After lunch I returned home and the kids had TOTALLY cleaned the house!!  They knew I wanted it clean for my birthday dinner, and they did a great job.  That inspired a Sonic run for happy hour slushies and drinks.

Kirk came home with this beautiful (type 1) flower bouquet.  He even said he knew I'd love the bright sunny flowers because of my type.  He learns quickly!!!!!!!!

I couldn't resist buying these tulips during my shopping spree!!

Kirk made this amazing dinner with fried chicken, mashed potatoes and corn.  We invited my parents and grandpa to the dinner too.

Everyone really enjoyed it and we ate until we couldn't eat anymore!!!

I then opened up presents which included a lot of candy and peeps!!!

I made three pies for my dessert.  coconut, strawberry and pineapple.

Pineapple pie seems like a weird choice doesn't it?  Well, the reason I made it is for my sweet grandpa (he's 93).  He often told us the story of how after school him and his friend would go eat pineapple pie.  It was a great memory for him and throughout the years we've looked for pineapple pie for him.  Well, no one ever makes it!  My dad told me the other month how he was wishing for pineapple pie again.  So, I surprised him with it after dinner.  It was awesome!!!  He was in heaven eating it and said it was so so close, the closest he's ever had.  It made me feel so good when he said, "I knew if anyone could do it, it would be Beth"  

I just love him!!!!!!

After dinner settled, my three older boys went home with my Dad to stay the night and help with some yard projects the next day.  I really wanted to play tennis, so I took Dallin and Tayla and we played for about an hour.  The whole day was so beautiful and sunny (in the 70's) and it ended just right with tennis.

I had a great birthday!!!  Can't wait for next year's!  Beth
