Soooo, it's my birthday. YEAH!!
And it is also the start of spring break.
Years past it has been rainy and COLD and just awful. The week drags on and on and on and on...........
I am hoping this year it will be productive and fun and somewhat relaxing. I mean, I could really use a good huge break. I feel like I am going to break if I don't get a break. Between preschool drama, church calling frustrations and taking on extra responsibilities (like bake sales, birthday gift arrangements for teachers, offering to make a class quilt for a fundraiser and providing treats for what seems like every event I go to..)
Why can't I just get a break?! I am sure most of these things that are stressing me out are my own fault. It is sooooo hard for me not to offer my services. I need a lesson on how to just say no.
It seems so simple.
The world will not end if I say no.
That will be my goal this week. To really take a spring break. To play with my kids and not check my e-mail every hour "just in case someone needs me." I will still be baking (prior commitments!!) but maybe I can find some fun things for the kids to do in the kitchen while I bake. And for sure I need to say no to all of the extra stuff. That sounds like a good goal.
Take a break, say no. Take a break, say no. Take a break, say no.
Here's to a happier less stressful week!!! Beth

A few weeks ago I was thinking that you're birthday was coming up but I couldn't remember what day...Happy Birthday regardless! If you don't learn to say no now(the biggest thing is not feeling guilt about it) then life will help you in a way that might not be pleasant to learn the art of saying no. Take it from someone who has a lot of experience in that. Go take some time off and go get a pedicure!
