The 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders did an AMAZING music program today! I was so excited about them doing something patriotic. They sang a lot of fun songs and we all did the pledge together. You can see Preston the third kid from the left on the top row. They invited vets to attend as well and I loved it when we all clapped for them. It was pretty touching.
With my bountiful basket this week I got collard greens. This made Kirk very excited since he ate them a lot on his mission. The only problem is I had no idea what to do with them. I used this recipe (and modified it a little by using more bacon and less greens since I only had one bunch) I'm telling you it was so delicious!!! It was sweet, it was hot, it was just good! We had to ration it because all of the boys wanted more, and they were even licking their plates!! I loved it too. So now I think we will be eating greens more.
You just can't go wrong with bacon :) Beth

It is always nice to find something that the whole clan will eat. :) Sam had his concert too. I am glad your boys did so well. :)
That program was really neat. The kids did a wonderful job and sang some great songs. Glad the dinner was such a hit. It always makes you feel good when the whole family enjoys the meal.
