I was just noticing how many self-help books I own. I LOVE reading these! I have my favorites too and I recommend them to everyone. I thought I would give you an idea about them one at a time, so today I'm starting with "It's All Too Much" by Peter Walsh. You may have seen him on Oprah. He digs pretty deep into the why's of your clutter, not just what to do with it and how to organize it. He has a quiz to take and I scored a 16 out of 20 which means I am a "hard core hoarder" (not really a big surprise to me!) This book has helped me on so many levels! It has helped me "let go" of the sentimental things, the broken things, the old and non-fitting things and the "I might use it someday" things. One key pharase I love from this book is, "No one should feel stressed out when they open the door to their own home" It is a work in progress for me. It is taking time. But with the help of this book and the questions he gives you to ask yourself, I am seeing the piles reduced and the rooms feeling how I want them to feel. He gives help on each room in the house and he helps you understand how freeing letting go of all the stuff is! He shares a few stories from his experience helping people as well. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to get organized but doesn't know where to start. It isn't all about finding the right shelves or containers, it goes a lot deeper than that and that is why I love this book! Beth
PS see the new gadget on my sidebar for all the books I am going to share.

That's a good idea, Beth. Sharing about our favorite self help books. I'll have to update my goodreads with a few of mine.
Sounds like a good book. Boy that is so true about hanging on to things. I am a bit of a pack rat but that has since ceased since I have a husband that doens't hang on to things. For me I hold on to things because of past family life...won't go into details but I totally understand.
So good to hear from you! A lesson that has always stuck with me is when you taught us to say thank you and be grateful. "If someone tells you that like your sweater say 'thank you' not 'oh, this old thing'" I always think of that. Are you guys in Boise?
