Chicken what!!!!????
Kolby has chicken pox! You know the childhood illness that was once so common....but now hardly an issue since the vaccine. I didn't even realize what it was. He came to me one morning with one bump on his chest and said a bug had bit him in the night. I thought that was gross, and we needed to clean under his bed. Off to school he goes. The next day, he said more bugs bit him...there were probably seven bumps now. Did it occur to me that it was chicken pox yet? No. Off to school he goes again. Friday was a half day and I took the boys to the gym to run around and play and Kolby tells me there's more bug bites on his legs..and two kids were sick today because they had chicken pox. You could hear my brain click. Is that what it really is? I was immedietly concerned about Tayla who is too young to have the vaccine, but thank goodness I am nursing her and she isn't in any danger. (Yeah! for the miracles of breastmilk!) The other boys may get it, but I think they would have it by now. I feel so dumb for sending him to school when he was contagious, but I had no idea! He hasn't been itchy or miserable. Just bummed he will miss school until all his pox are scabbed over. He doesn't even have a temp. Dallin is also sick, some sort of flu with throwing up, fever and stomach problems, but he seems to be getting better now too. Tayla is feeling much better and seems to be back to my happy baby again. She started eating solids and really enjoys them. This is the first baby I have had that enjoys plain rice cereal! She also likes applesauce, bananas, pears. Peaches made her very gassy, so we will wait a little before doing those again, and carrots gave her a runny nose. Sweet Potatoes made her stuffy to the point she couldn't breathe even if I suctioned her nose out. I hope she doesn't have any allergies like Dallin and Preston, but they run in families, so we'll see. At least she can have her cereal mixed with a fruit and she loves it! I am taking her this week to get pictures in her Easter dress.......Well I better go, Dallin just informed me his poop is running on his shoes...ah the joys of motherhood! Beth

Poor Kolby!!! How would you have known unless your other boys would've had chicken pox before. Hopefully Tayla will be okay. I thought it was so much fun feeding baby new foods. I love to see their reactions.
Chicken pox? Crazy! Well I hope he's feeling better & nobody else gets it. As far as the poop running into the shoe - gross! :)
