It started with crepes!

I want to do a post about my birthday, but as many of you know, it's hard to get a lot of pictures of yourself.  Logan who usually takes pictures for me was on a camp out, so they are scarce!  I managed to snag a few, starting with my yummy birthday breakfast!!

I love me some crepes!  They are so good!  We had them with eggs, bacon and cheese or strawberries and cream or butter and cinnamon and sugar.  My parents came by and joined us as well.  It was a yummy start to my day!

After breakfast I opened presents from my parents.  They are so thoughtful and always spoil me!  I love my gifts!! After they left I loaded up the gear and headed out to play some tennis.  Perfect. Tennis. Weather.  I couldn't have asked for a better day.  We played for a while, chased balls a lot, and I practiced serving.  I can still serve pretty good!!  It was so fun to do something I love.  I really need to find a tennis buddy.

We were too full from breakfast to eat lunch!  I made my birthday pie-coconut cream.  I think I took a little nap too. (we stayed up late on Friday watching Jaws!)  Kirk took the kids out for a few hours to shop and I took a nice long shower and watched some Pride and Prejudice.

I didn't want to cook, so we ordered Hawaiian pizzas and I opened presents.  I got lots of bird seed to feed the birds on the deck, a beautiful cake stand and serving platter, a yoga mat and weights and other odds and ends.

We ate the yummy pie, and I even made a wish! (notice my new cake stand?)

I watched the General Young Woman Broadcast and then I headed out to the movies with a friend.  Hunger Games!!  It was a great movie.  I love the books and enjoyed the movie.  I got home at like 11:30, so I think I did pretty well with all the celebrating!  I also received a lot of nice cards from friends and family throughout the week which made my day every time I checked the mail!

I tried to make this a birthday week one of gratitude and sent cards to a lot of people, handed out treats to the teachers at school and to my neighbors and I made Kirk some of his favorite potato salad.  I think it made my birthday special to focus on serving others and not just all about my self.  I have a blessed life and have been so thankful for all the joy I've had these 35 years.  I think I've accomplished a lot so far and can't wait to follow more dreams as the years progress!!  I know the best is yet to be!  Beth
