keeping busy and happy!!!!

I have decided to take back my summer, and my life.  I was not being the kind of Mother I know I can be, and I was not doing my job.  This is my job, full time.  I decided to start acting like it.  Things have gotten better, and I feel happy.  We've started sticking to a schedule and doing chores before outings which has helped a ton as far as the messy house.  And I just get up and get going, messy hair and all!!!

Our zucchini is going crazy, so this is a regular in our house.  Doesn't last long!

My Dad and my Grandpa (who's all most 90!!) came over and we made strawberry jam together.  It was quite a memory, I love these two so so much!  Aren't they cute?

Tayla was a great helper too, she's going to be an awesome cook!

Tayla also got to wear her new princess dress to a birthday party.  (Well, it isn't really new, I got it at a garage sale for a dollar.)  It's in great shape, she wore it all day!

Kolby turned TEN on Sunday!  Here's his special dinner-fried marinated chicken, scalloped potatoes, slow cooked baked beans with bacon and orange pop.  I love letting the kids pick their favorite dinner on their birthdays.  It's so fun to see what they love.

He got lots of great presents too.  I love this picture of him, he's so silly!

We fed the ducks this morning, it was pretty fun!  My secret is to use old cereal.  I had this Kashi cereal I got for free and it was so nasty, so we used it to feed the ducks.  Cheerios works great too.

Tayla had so much fun, she couldn't stop smiling!!

We also went to the train depot.  We go there a lot, it's so close and the boys love it there.  I love where we live.  We are on a quiet street, but near so many parks and fun places downtown.  Boise is just awesome!!

That's all for now, we are getting ready to go to Montana this week and are so so excited for that!!

You're right...where you're at is golden. A lot of people don't see it that way but we loved where we were at when we were there. Also, that is so awesome that your Dad and Grandpa were making strawberry jam. It reminds me of my Grandpa...he used to make me the best freezer jam.

I need to take your advice. I find myself overwhelmed and frustrated at the end of lots of days. Their summer is almost over, we need to just have fun!

When I sit back and relax I find I enjoy my family so much more. It's sure hard though!
